OpenWorld sessions from Oracle Mix voting winners announced

Congratulations to all of the folks that had their session proposals on Oracle Mix selected for inclusion in OpenWorld.

Congratulations go to Oracle as well for reserving 25 slots for these sessions. OpenWorld is a big conference, but blocking off 25 slots for user-nominated content is still quite impressive. These aren't the only customer-led sessions, but these were selected purely by voting on Mix, so it's not like Oracle could just cherry-pick the sessions that they found interesting. Take a look at the 5th ranked session for example. There's no way that PeopleSoft ever would have allowed a session like that to be presented at a user conference :-)

There are some PeopleSoft related sessions that had enough votes to get selected.
Also of interest is Steve Stein's presentation, Visual Dashboard Design (disclosure: Steve is a friend of ours here at Grey Sparling). It's not directly PeopleSoft related, but the topic of data visualization and navigation is dear to our hearts. Plus we've been doing some interesting work around here lately for integrating OBIEE (Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition, which used to be Siebel Analytics) with PeopleSoft via our Grey Sparling Hoverboards product.

The sessions that we had proposed didn't have enough votes to make the cut. We didn't do enough (read "any") promotion of our own session proposals, and we were so early on in proposing them (we had the first non-Oracle proposals) that no one scrolled that far in the list :-)

We'll have a follow up post later about getting some good PeopleTools related content at the Oracle Un-conference that happens alongside of OpenWorld.
